Significance & Philosophy

Shreem is one of the most auspicious beeja syllables. In Sanskrit, Shri means beauty, auspiciousness, prosperity and grace — it is prefixed to revered names (Shri Ram, Shri Krishna) as the highest honour. Chanting Shreem is said to attract the energy of Lakshmi into one's life.

Benefits of Chanting

  • Attracts abundance, wealth and material prosperity
  • Removes poverty and financial obstacles
  • Brings beauty, grace and auspiciousness
  • Strengthens Lakshmi energy in the home
  • Particularly powerful on Fridays and Diwali

How to Chant

Best chanted on Fridays (Lakshmi's day), during Diwali, and on Purnima (full moon). Chant 108 times on a crystal (Sphatika) or lotus seed mala. Face east or north. Light a ghee lamp before chanting.
